PoppaZoppa was never given a fair chance at EA.com!
Once the decision was made to merge with Pogo, EA.com decided there was no room for poppazoppa and several other popular games they hosted freely on their site. Their reasoning being that poppazoppa didn't provide a large enough "community of players". Or in other words, 'game-chat' stayed at a minimum. Another reason they gave was put simply, "poppazoppa would have to be reprogrammed to run on the java platform" and that would be to costly to pacify the many hundreds of poppaholics.

Poppaholics are POPPIN MAD!
Poppazoppa was a fun and fast-paced game. Concentration was a must as well, which is one of the things that made this game so popular, fun and addictive. It was easy to learn, but hard to master! So it's easy to explain why poppaholics weren't always so chatty during game play. However, intermission and breaks between rounds provided plenty of 'chat time' if anyone was inclined to do so.
As far as the 'java platform' excuse, I guess it was EA.com's polite way of saying that a timed, fast-paced game like poppazoppa didn't have enough room for all the advertisements that pogo players have to suffer through game after game.
Inspite of the hundred upon hundreds of post requesting EA.com to rethink retiring poppazoppa on their message boards, it was given the ax on 07.10.00
Today is 06.19.04
And we have not forgot our beloved game Poppazoppa. Please browse this site and others dedicated to bringing poppazoppa back. Take the surveys and vote in the poll. Write your own review of the game and read others posted on the internet. Continued support for poppazoppa is the only way to get it back!! With everyone helping I feel that we will be popping again soon!
